Elder Services of Berkshire County strives to help elders and their families in the Berkshire County.
Its core programs include:
Home Care Services:
When illness or disability strikes, or your ability to perform the normal activities of daily living diminishes with age, you may want to consider Home Care services that can help you remain living independently at home. Available services include help with housekeeping, laundry, bathing and dressing, Personal Emergency Response Systems, and medication management. Age, disability and financial eligibility guidelines apply.
Meals on Wheels:
Provides homebound elders with nutritious, hot lunches on weekdays, and frozen meals on weekends. Special meals are available for diabetic clients and lactose intolerant clients.
Congregate Meal Program:
Provide elders with nutritious, hot lunches and a place to socialize and do activities at 14 different sites.
The Family Caregiver Support Program:
Offers support for caregivers of elders above the age of sixty, or under the age of sixty with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and physical or mental illnesses. The caregiver may seek support in the forms of individual support, support groups, information and resources, and education.
