We’ve kicked off our 2017-2018 annual campaign! 1,400+ letters are arriving in mailboxes and more will be on their way soon. Supporting local agencies in the Northern Berkshires for generations, we once again are seeking the generous support of local neighbors and business partners to help reach another successful campaign goal.
The Williamstown Community Chest’s theme of “Creating Community” has been an important driving factor during its 90-year existence. Unique to the Williamstown Community Chest is the fact that it maintains an emergency fund or special purpose fund with the flexibility to act locally and quickly. Recent allocations have been granted to organizations affected by the closing of the North Adams Regional Hospital as well as groups assisting with those displaced by the flooding at The Spruces.
The co-chairs for this year’s campaign are Susan Briggs and Jane Frado.
Next on the event calendar for the Community Chest is the always popular Penny Social raffle held at Williams College’s Lasell Gym at the top of Spring Street. A part of the town’s annual Holiday Walk, the date is Saturday, December 2, and will feature an enticing array of sporting goods and clothing, personal services, restaurant gift certificates, books and games, plants and gardening supplies, and much more. The Williamstown Community Chest is an active volunteer-driven effort.
This year’s fundraising goal is $260,000, with 100% of funds raised directly serving the 17 member agencies.
As in years past, any first time donor’s support will be matched through a special gift.
