Today, funds are disbursed to 16 member agencies that provide health care for the uninsured, assistive technology for the disabled, housing for the homeless, counseling for those battling alcoholism and drug abuse, and a host of other good works for the people of our community. Last year the Williamstown Community Chest raised its highest amount of money ever thanks to the generosity of donors: $231,000. This year the goal is to raise even more -- $250,000 to celebrate 80 years of working to improve our community. Please donate now and help us get there.

Sep 1: As we launch our 2006-07 annual campaign, the Board sends out a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our wonderful donors who made the 2005-06 campaign such a success. A total of 775 donors made gifts ranging from $5 to $23,000, a true show of community support and a testament to the saying that every little bit counts.

Dec 6: The board approved a $2250 grant to the Mt. Greylock Regional School District that will enable the student body to receive outreach counseling and reproductive health education through Tapestry Health Services. The one-time grant will provide weekly outreach that includes classroom work, small group sessions and one-on-one counseling services. Debora Cole-Duffy, adjustment counselor for the Mt. Greylock Regional School District, notes, “In the past, funding for this service was available from the state; however, when the public health and education funds were no longer available, Tapestry Health Services was no longer able to provide outreach education to our school. We are most grateful to the Williamstown Community Chest for providing this one-time grant for this vital service.”
